The short version
- Persa Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd. runs Acemate and decides how your data is used.
- We use your data to teach, to mark work and to report on learning. We never sell it, and Acemate shows no advertising.
- For a student in Grades 1 to 12, a parent or guardian gives consent by email, and can change or withdraw it at any time without an Acemate account.
- The Acemate AI engine reads and marks submitted work. AI feedback can be wrong, so a teacher or parent should review it.
- You can see, correct and delete your data. Write to acemateservices@gmail.com.
1. Who we are
Acemate is an online personalised learning platform for school students, schools, school teachers, independent tutors and parents, operated by Persa Global Solutions Private Limited, a company incorporated in India (“Persa Global”, “we”, “us”). Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), we are the Data Fiduciary for the data in this policy, except where a school is (section 4).

This policy covers the Acemate website and app. We have kept it short. If you want more detail about anything in it, write to acemateservices@gmail.com and we will explain.
2. The data we collect
We ask only for what Acemate needs to work. Anything marked optional is your choice, and Acemate works without it.
- Account: name, email address, username, password (never stored in readable form) and role. We give each account an enrolment ID. Optional: signing in with Google, in which case Google gives us your name, email address and profile picture.
- Students: grade, board, preferred language, textbooks and school. Optional: date of birth.
- Parents and guardians: name, email address, mobile number, relationship to the student, and the record of each consent decision. Optional: a second parent or guardian.
- Teachers and tutors: mobile number, and the school where you teach or, for a tutor, the address where you teach.
- Work you submit: photos and scans of handwritten answers, typed answers and quiz answers.
- Learning records: attempts, marks, feedback, progress, study plans and rewards.
- Messages you send us.
- Technical: IP address, browser and device details, logs and sign-in records.
We do not collect Aadhaar, PAN or any other government ID number, or your precise location.
3. Why we use it
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To teach: set questions, run quizzes and assignments, and mark work, including by AI (section 5).
- To track progress, and make study plans and reports for the student, their parents, teachers and school.
- To send service emails: verification, password resets, consent requests and account notices.
- To keep Acemate and your data secure, and prevent misuse.
- To improve Acemate.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We rely on your consent, or a parent’s for a child, except where the law allows us to process data without it, such as to meet a legal obligation. We never sell personal data or use it for advertising.
4. Children and parental consent
Under the DPDP Act, a child is anyone under 18. Acemate is built for students in Grades 1 to 12, so we treat every student account as a child’s unless it is clear the student is an adult.
4.1 How a parent gives consent
When a student in Grades 1 to 12 joins, or a parent signs up their family, we email a consent request to the parent or guardian. The parent confirms their email address with a one-time code, confirms that they are an adult and the student’s parent or guardian, and chooses what to allow. A child cannot consent for themselves, and a parent never needs an Acemate account.
Some uses are needed for Acemate to work: the learning platform, AI evaluation and feedback, and emails to the parent. Two are optional: keeping photos of answer sheets for up to 6 months so the student can look back at them, and sharing results with the student’s school or teacher.
4.2 Changing your mind
At Manage consent, with a code sent to their email, a parent can see what they allowed, switch off an optional use, withdraw consent, and ask for a copy of the child’s data, a correction or deletion. The parent dashboard does the same. If a parent declines or withdraws consent to AI evaluation, we stop sending that student’s work for it. Withdrawal does not undo what has already happened.
4.3 How we use a child’s data
A child’s progress and mastery estimates, study plans and rewards (XP, coins, gems and streaks) are used only to teach the student, and to report to the student, their parents, and their teachers and school. We never use a child’s data for advertising, never sell it, and do not track children across other websites or apps.
4.4 Schools
Where a school uses Acemate under an agreement that makes the school the Data Fiduciary for its verified students, the consent notice names the school, we act on the school’s instructions, and the school is the first point of contact for those students’ data.
5. How we use AI
The Acemate AI engine reads handwriting, marks answers, writes feedback and explanations, creates practice questions and builds study plans.
AI feedback can be wrong
AI marks and feedback are an aid to learning, not a final academic judgement. A teacher or parent should review them before anyone relies on them, and where a teacher has marked the work, the teacher’s mark prevails. If an AI mark or comment about you is wrong, ask us to correct it.
The full disclaimer is in our Terms of Service, section 3.
6. Who can see your data
- Our service providers, who host and store our data, run our AI models, send our emails, check for bots and deliver our fonts. Each processes data only to provide its service to us. You can ask us for their names.
- People on Acemate: a teacher who sets you work or whose group you join, your school, a parent linked to you, and our own staff when their work needs it. Other students never see your work, marks or profile.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
- A new owner, if Acemate or Persa Global is sold or merged. They are bound by this policy.
Some providers process data outside India. We never transfer personal data to a country the Government of India has restricted under section 16 of the DPDP Act.
7. How we protect it
All traffic is encrypted, passwords are never stored in readable form, uploaded work is kept in private storage, and each account sees only what its role allows. No system is perfectly secure: if a breach affects your data, we will tell you, and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
8. How long we keep it
- Account and learning records: until the account is deleted.
- Photos of answer sheets: for a limited time that depends on the account and the parent’s choice, never more than 24 months. Marks and feedback stay with the account.
- Security logs: at least one year.
Deleting an account removes its sign-in and records at once. Answer sheets a teacher uploaded for an exam stay with that exam until you ask us to remove them. For the exact periods, write to us.
9. Your rights
- See the data we hold about you, and who we have shared it with.
- Correct it, including an AI mark or comment you believe is wrong.
- Delete it, apart from what the law makes us keep (section 8).
- Withdraw consent, as easily as you gave it.
- Nominate someone to act for you if you die or cannot act yourself.
- Complain (section 11).
A student can delete their account from their Profile page. A parent can get a copy of a child’s data, ask for a correction or deletion, and withdraw consent at Manage consent, without an Acemate account. For anything else, write to acemateservices@gmail.com. It is free, we answer within 30 days, and we may first confirm your identity through the email address on the account.
This policy is in English. Write to us for it in another language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution.
10. Cookies
We use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and a few that remember your choices. With your permission, and never on student accounts, we count page views without cookies. Our Cookie Policy lists them.
